Manabu App relies on data from various sources which help enrich the app experience.
These include:
JMdict
JMdict, created by Jim Breen and now managed by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG), is a great general dictionary with roughly 170 000 entries and is actively maintained by Jim Breen and a team of volunteers. Manabu uses the JMDict as the backing database for most of its entries.
KanjiDic
Manabu uses KanjiDic as the backing database for its Kanji References
Radkfile
Manabu uses the Radkfile database of radicals to power its radical lookup feature
Tatoeba (Tanaka corpus)
All example sentences found in Manabu come from the Tatoeba project.
KanjiVG
Stroke order data for kanji entries originate from the KanjiVG project, by Ulrich Apel and several contributors.
Wanikani
Manabu doesn't use Wanikani information directly, but users are able to integrate their Wanikani account for a more enriched app experience
