Manabu Sources


Manabu App relies on data from various sources which help enrich the app experience.


These include:

JMdict

JMdict, created by Jim Breen and now managed by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group (EDRDG), is a great general dictionary with roughly 170 000 entries and is actively maintained by Jim Breen and a team of volunteers. Manabu uses the JMDict as the backing database for most of its entries.

KanjiDic

Manabu uses KanjiDic as the backing database for its Kanji References

Radkfile

Manabu uses the Radkfile database of radicals to power its radical lookup feature

Tatoeba (Tanaka corpus)

All example sentences found in Manabu come from the Tatoeba project.

KanjiVG

Stroke order data for kanji entries originate from the KanjiVG project, by Ulrich Apel and several contributors.

Wanikani

Manabu doesn't use Wanikani information directly, but users are able to integrate their Wanikani account for a more enriched app experience

Manabu relies on various data sources including KanjiDic, JMdict, RADKFILE, Tanaka corpus, and more.
